Claude M. Kent Lodge History

WM's Message

Our October regular meeting was our annual step-up night. Our Senior Warden, Bro Dave Connell had chosen a good team of officers to assist him which worked an impressive first degree. The DDGM, R W Bro Eric Marshall, who was making a fraternal visit, congratulated the team on their work and the standard they had achieved. Congratulations also to Bro Daniel Koz, who was a very good candidate. Welcome to our Fraternity!

At our meeting, we were also pleased to welcome Ms Nancy Bromberg, President of the Oakville Fair Share Food Bank. She spoke inspiringly of the work of her organisation and expressed thanks to CMK for its support over the years. After her address, a cheque for $800.00 was donated by the lodge to mark Thanksgiving. The presentation was made by W Bro Bryce McBain and V W Errol Anderson.

Our Regular Meeting in November will be the annual Past Master’s Night when a third degree is anticipated. As has become customary in November, we shall also be holding our Service of Remembrance to commemorate those who paid the supreme sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy. The same month, CMK is hosting the annual meeting of the four lodges of the three Hamilton Districts who meet on the same night. This gives us an opportunity to meet, work together and enjoy each other’s company. The Barton Lodge No.6 has arranged the work and CMK is putting forward a candidate for his Second Degree.

Finally, our congratulations to the newly installed Supreme Ruler of Halton Conclave, Order of the Secret Monitor, our very own W Bro Neil Follett. We are all proud! As a rightful close:

‘The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. (Proverbs 13:4)
